The Components in Detail
Common Features
OBMS
by architecture strictly seperates business logic and presentation,
i.e. any component realises its user interface (the visible web page) based on external templates and style sheets controlling the final appearance on the screen.
This allows any components of
OBMS
and thus the whole system to smoothly integrate into any existing website look-and-feel.
OBMS's
unlimited multilingual feature is owed to the template-based user interfaces, too. Any further language is simply added through another set of templates.
At the same time
OBMS
simply falls back to a default language, eg English, should a language-specific set (or parts of it) be missing.
OBMS
is fully web-based, i.e. anything resides on a web server - ours if hosting
OBMS
with us and just linking to it from your website or yours if hosting
OBMS
yourself. In either case
OBMS
doesn't rely on cookies, i.e. doesn't keep anything on the user's machine. Thus
OBMS
will even run smoothly if users have deactivated these features judging them to be harmful.
OBMS's
open object oriented architecture easily allows enhancements or even customisations of the (first-hand fixed) business logic.
Thus we're always happy about suggestions to make
OBMS
even better or incorporate your individual requirements as custom or standard features.
OBMS
is supposed to serve our customers' business at its best - not the other way around.
Admin Component
This is the major tool for anyone running an
OBMS
installation. It allows the administration of any
OBMS
feature as well as the ongoing operation itself.
Needless to mention users need to be authorised to use this tool by logging in with user name and password.
OBMS
administration features available to any admin are the
- setup of bookable items, eg accommodation facilities: name, number of instances, (de)activation,
- maintenance of conditions (base charge, deposit amount and due, balance due) for each item and optional elements dependant on date and different booking types (weekly, daily, per person or item etc.),
- setup of notifications used throughout the booking process, i.e. content of emails produces at certain stages and send to admins, customers etc.
- preview to any user interfaces available to your customers including link presentation to simply copy-paste into your own website to integrate it with
OBMS.
This as well gives the admin a shortcut to them, eg to process booking requests made by phone.
- generation of newsletter mail shots using mailing list opt-ins.
In addition, lead admins, i.e. those responsible for the overall administration (applicable only for larger venues and thus only available in these editions), are able to
- organise multiple administrators: logins, contact email (eg for notifications), (de)activation,
- granting and revoking of lead admin rights,
- mapping of items onto specific admins.
OBMS
operation features available to any admin allow to enter and track bookings including
- access to all details,
- confirmation and payment status,
- receipt, reminder and further notification issue,
- the overall booking state, eg occupancy and availability level, details, calendar etc.
Customer Component
This actually represents the range of
OBMS
user interfaces available to your customers. It's these interfaces linked into your website to integrate it with
OBMS.
OBMS
Price Lists featuring any combination of
- item(s) including options,
- booking type(s) applicable (weekly, daily, per person or item etc.),
- covering whatever time span.
OBMS
Item Availability visualising any combination of
- booked dates,
- available dates,
- presented as list,
- presented as calendar etc.
OBMS
Booking Process for a certain item, possibly booking type specific, comprising of the steps
- availability visualisation,
- acquisition of customer's date choice,
- display of resulting total and payment schedule,
- acquisition of customer details and payment method,
- display of terms & conditions,
- retrieval of booking placement including terms & conditions acceptance and mailing list opt-in facility,

This component is only available with the
OBMS
